Was supposed to be the 3 on 1 site my mistake. we know our school is closing , it's PV that needs to understand that their school is closing to and we are all going to Wise. Be happy!!! Don't need to fight it because you are not going to win. Why should Appy want to help you keep your school when BSG didn't support keeping Appy opened? I love seeing people get mad now that they are losing their school. Some kids are already driving to Wise to take classes at the Career Center.
The parents need to realize this isn't about them, this is about their kids.
If I were a student, I'd be excited for this opportunity. I'd have more classes to choose from, and more exposure as an athlete.
The whole 15-20 minute drive to school shouldn't be an issue, I drove 15-20 minutes during my whole time in southwest Virginia.

why kill two communities instead of one?
not putting a school on this end of the county kills two communities instead of killing one.
keep one school, who cares if its in appalachia or big stone.
i dont want to get into this bsg/appy mess, but one of these towns should keep a school
how does it not make so much more sense to have two schools on two sites/ our end and the wise end?
and it seems to me, the most logical solution to solve where to put a school on our end is population.
that makes the most sense and does not lend to any bias.
and i honestly dont know which town has more people, if its appalachia then so be it.
I have to say in the past year I have come to absolutely love the town of Appalachia. I would hate to see it go down farther than it has because it's a great place. However, when it comes to the school situation it's ridiculous to think that people form there wouldn't want their kids going to school with people from Powell Valley. It's obviously just the parents. Alot of the kids from PV and Appy are friends and have absolutely no problem with each other. I went to PV and I had plenty of friends from appy and still do. Some of my best friends are from there. But these parents that are still living in the 80's can't get over some stupid rivalry... it's crazy! I don't care where they would have to build the school for a PV/Appy consolidation. I just don't want to see 1 school for the whole area or 3 or 2 school at one site. That's just asking for trouble.
TBH i think we should put consolidation or talks of it on hold til after the power plant is operational, people should be moving in for jobs and the coal industry may take off. hell it may not work but it MAY solve a lot of our financial troubles.
